Live at Pele Utu Renoville
First Fridays were made for motion — guitars dripping with reverb, drums rolling like waves, and a room full of people who knew better than to stay home.
The Sun Rays — Reno’s only true traditional surf rock band — take the stage at Pele Utu, bringing the sound of the early ’60s back to life. Instrumental surf the way it was meant to be played: loud, clean, fast, and soaked in salt air that never actually touched Reno.
This is music for leaning forward, tapping feet, and wondering why anyone ever thought synthesizers were a good idea.
Seats fill up fast on First Fridays — and once the torches are lit and the amps warm up, there’s no squeezing in. Get here early if you want a chair. Otherwise, you’ll be standing, which is still better than missing it.
Hungry? Good.
We don’t do food, but our neighbors at Taste of India do it right — order next door and have it brought straight in. Curry and surf rock work better together than they have any right to.
