NEW! GALLERY SHOW - FREE EVENT
January 15th from 6-8pm at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen
Join us for a very special exhibit grand opening featuring works from our OMA (Opening Minds Through Art) Center - Opening Minds through Art is a Scripps intergenerational art program for people with dementia aimed at promoting their social engagement, autonomy, and dignity through the experience of creative self-expression.
Come out to see and support their art. Plus, enjoy new works by Tanya M. Green and Rosalind Koons, along with a wine/beer cash bar that supports our art outreach programs! Additional free exhibits include:
BIOLOGICAL MYSTICISM - Explore the imagined lifeforms created in Rosalind Koons’ sculptural works. This exhibit delves into the relationship between the alien body and the human body. Presented as fictional scientific study, explore the connection between these otherworldly bodies and the human form. Through her work, Koons reflects on her personal experience with chronic illness, using her sculptural alien forms as proxies.
FRAGMENTS OF BEAUTY: CRYSTAL, GLASS & NATURE CLOSE-UP - Tanya Green’s art is a vibrant exploration of form and light. Through close-up observation and a keen eye for detail, she magnifies the small wonders of the world into striking pieces. Her work plays with scale and the way glassware fractures our perception.
Tag a friend, mark your calendar and come out for a fun evening of art!
