On February 28, Local trio "Company’s Coming" brings their joyful, down-home sound to the cozy listening room at Richmond Folk Music at Congregation Or Ami - a small venue with beautiful natural acoustics that’s just right for traditional old-time tunes.
Specializing in real front-porch style Americana, gospel, and Appalachian music, this trio blends two- and three-part harmonies with an array of traditional instruments including banjo, mandolin, guitar, autoharp, banjo uke, harmonica, and even a limberjack — a dancing wooden percussion figure that adds a touch of old-time fun.
You’ll hear plenty of familiar songs, and you won’t just be listening — you’ll be part of the music. Company’s Coming loves a lively room, and audiences are warmly encouraged to sing along as the spirit of community music-making fills the space.
Step in from the February chill and settle in for an evening that feels like a gathering on a neighbor’s porch — relaxed, welcoming, and full of the timeless music that brings people together.
Tickets $10.00 in advance, $12.00 at the door. Concert begins at 7:30, doors open at 7:00. Light refreshments (coffee, tea and pastries) will be available. There's plenty of parking and the venue is accessible to all.
