Miró Quartet with David Shifrin, clarinet
The Miró Quartet is joined by clarinetist David Shifrin for a program titled "A Rendezvous With Benny". It celebrates the artistry of Benny Goodman centered particularly on the relationship between Benny and the Budapest Quartet, who recorded the Mozart Clarinet Quintet together in the 1950s. The program features that Mozart Quintet, includes the piece that inspired the name, “Rendezvous” by Alan Shulman, and features a work by Peter Schickele as well as Benny Goodman swing arrangements arranged for the 5 players by David Schiff.
