An Evening with Paula Hawkins
Words Alive will host its 2024 Author Event & Fundraiser on Wednesday, October 30, at JULEP Venue. This year’s event marks the organization’s 25th anniversary and will feature Paula Hawkins, the best-selling author of The Girl on the Train. Proceeds from the event will support Words Alive’s mission to foster a love of reading in the community, particularly among underserved populations.
The evening will begin with a VIP reception, followed by dinner and an engaging author interview led by KPBS’s Julia Dixon Evans. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase signed copies of Hawkins' new book, The Blue Hour.
Words Alive, a San Diego-based nonprofit, has been promoting literacy and educational equity since 1999. Through programs that engage students, families, and educators, the organization helps build lifelong reading habits, crucial for academic and personal success.
