Join a new gathering of Book Society's "Leading Ladies" Book Club — smart reads by and about powerful women — now at our brand-new San Francisco pop-up location!
After a truly magical gathering in Berkeley last month, we're expanding the conversation and bringing it across the Bay. We're taking a little different turn this month with a fictional pick that's sure to inspire real-world wisdom and reflection. Our latest selection, The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, is a charming debut about one woman's lifelong habit of making sense of the world through letters. At seventy-three, Sybil Van Antwerp writes to friends, family, and even the occasional famous author—until a letter from her past prompts her to reexamine her life, love, and legacy.
Together, we'll explore the power of written words—weaving conversation around the art and benefits of letter writing, inspired by Virginia's die-hard commitment to the craft.
Expect an evening of meaningful discussion, laughter, and connection—paired, as always, with a thoughtful wine selection.
Your ticket includes:
interactive, facilitated book discussion
red, white, or non-alcoholic wine
delicious snack
