JAX Vineyards Presents Farallon

Jax Jams welcomes keyboardist Ian McArdle and his trio Farallon to the Jax Vineyards wine bar and event venue in the heart of San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood. A recent graduate from the famed Oberlin Conservatory, McArdle has since performed at Yoshi’s Jazz Club, the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, and the Montreux Jazz Festival. His trio Farallon — named for the wild, windswept islands off the San Francisco coast — draws its inspiration from the natural world and the rugged beauty of the California coastline. Expect music that breathes with the rhythm of the sea: expansive, evocative, and alive. Complementing the musical lineup is the extraordinary Chef Olivia Mecalco of Mi Comedor, who brings her vibrant Mexican and Latin American pop-up kitchen to the party. Olivia originally learned to cook Mexican dishes from many different regions from her grandmother, who collected recipes from all around the country. Now a proud graduate of San Francisco’s celebrated La Cocina food incubator and a featured weekly vendor at The Ferry Building, Chef Olivia crafts bold, soulful dishes by fusing traditional recipes with modern ingredients and techniques. Free Admission w/ Reservation: 4:00-9:00 pm; Music from 5:30-8:00pm For reservations, please book at https://www.exploretock.com/jaxvineyardssf or by calling the JAX tasting room at (415) 446-9505. This concert is sponsored by Jazz in the Neighborhood, a Bay Area 501c3 nonprofit. Jazz in the Neighborhood works to improve the economics of jazz performance in the Bay Area by presenting affordable concerts, paying musicians a guaranteed wage, and supporting the work of established and aspiring jazz artists.
