Smooch a Pooch fee-free adoption event, Muttville Senior Dog Rescue

Muttville Senior Dog Rescue hosts two weeks of fee-free adoptions to qualified adopters from 11 AM to 4 PM, May 16th through May 31st, at our San Francisco shelter in the Mission District, 750 Florida Street. The standard $250 adoption fee is waived for senior dogs being placed into new homes. California shelters are overwhelmed. Muttville and all of our Bay Area rescue partners ask for your help to save these precious lives. Muttville's senior dogs arrive with a major head start on their health. Our on-site veterinarian performs a comprehensive head-to-tail wellness check on each dog, and many receive essential surgeries—such as spaying/neutering, dental work, or tumor removal—before they leave our care. By covering these procedures upfront, we save adopters thousands of dollars in immediate medical costs. By waiving adoption fees, Muttville aims to attract more potential adopters who care about senior dogs abandoned in their golden years. In addition to fee-free adoptions, Muttville is providing: Free Food: All adopted dogs are sent home with 2 weeks' worth of food courtesy of Just Food For Dogs. Vet resources: a list of cost-effective vet resources for new adopters, including a vet clinic partner who allows Muttville adopters free first wellness exams and a clinic partner that offers sliding scale pricing for veterinary care. With every adoption, discount coupons are offered to some of our local pet stores. At Muttville, adoptable dogs are 7 years old and older. The dogs come from Northern California shelter partners and from people who can no longer care for them. Why adopt a senior dog? Many rescued senior dogs are already housebroken. They have a calmer temperament and an established personality. Older dogs demand less time and oversight than puppies. Many are already trained and well-behaved, often expressing their gratitude for their new homes and families through affection and devotion. Visit Muttville's cage-free shelter in the Mission District and see who approaches you or jumps in your lap for cuddles. Muttville invites people to enjoy our warm, inviting shelter, whether or not you can adopt a dog. Muttville is open from 11 AM to 4 PM at 750 Florida St., Tuesday - Sunday. Muttville Senior Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to changing how the world thinks about and treats senior dogs. A national model for animal rescue, Muttville’s cage-free facility, on-site veterinary suite, foster, hospice, and humane education programs are being emulated around the country. Based in San Francisco, Muttville is committed to educating and inspiring the world to love and care for senior dogs until every dog has a loving forever home.
