EarthFest Weekend at SF Zoo

San Francisco Zoo & Gardens will host its annual EarthFest Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19. This year, the Zoo will welcome special guest organizations at its pop-up EarthFest village. The event also features live entertainment by celebrated musicians, Michael John Ahern and Chris Cotruvo, plus activities and more. EarthFest which takes place each day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., is an opportunity for the Zoo and its partners to share information about the importance of living sustainably, available community services and resources, and conservation efforts taking place locally and globally. Zoo departments will also be on hand to give guests insight on how they keep the Zoo maintained, how they care for animals, and the Zoo’s own conservation initiatives, giving back to the planet. Participating organizations include The Marine Mammal Center, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, National Wildlife Federation, San Francisco Transit Riders, Safe Rides to School, Recology, Muskwa Club, CPALI - Conservation Through Poverty Alleviation International, American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK), and various Zoo departments, including Horticulture, Conservation, Environmental Services, and SF Zoo Docents. In addition, PawSpace, whose app is a one-stop solution for pet-parents and their needs, will be collecting gently-used pet items (leashes, collars, toys, bowls, small accessories) during EarthFest. Through the PawSpace Foundation, they deliver donated pet supplies directly to shelters, rescues, and foster families in need. EarthFest Weekend is free with paid Zoo admission.
