A Gary Geyer Retrospective
Geyer was a very prolific painter in his lifetime. He was a dedicated full-time artist in Santa Cruz county for over 40 years.
He painted in oils and acrylics on canvas and linen. His technique was high glaze, Dutch Masters style consisting of many underpaintings to develop a three-dimensional feel. His paintings fall into the categories of realism, surrealism, and visionary; sometimes each one separately, sometimes all three incorporated into the same piece.
He passed away in November 2019 and is son, Stephen Geyer, has been selling his father's paintings in Art of Santa Cruz since then. For the first time we are able to hang the larger paintings and are excited to invite everyone to stop by and take a look.
Geyer also painted many beautiful landscapes of local areas.
