This summer marks a momentous occasion for Music@Menlo: the final festival under the Artistic Directorship of David Finckel and Wu Han. Tickets are now on sale for Redux, a celebratory exploration of chamber music which revisits themes from David and Wu Han's 24 years of leadership.
Music@Menlo’s inaugural festival presented chamber music as a living narrative, where it traces its evolution from the Baroque era to the present day. This Unfolding of Music program follows that journey in a single concert, from Telemann’s inventive concerto and Beethoven’s radiant “Spring” Sonata to Schumann’s imaginative variations and Bartók’s folk-inspired modernism. The journey culminates with the West Coast premiere of Sir Stephen Hough’s Piano Quintet, performed by the composer alongside the acclaimed Viano Quartet.
