La Luz, the California psych-rock band led by guitarist and songwriter Shana Cleveland, is known for pairing swaggering riffs with dreamy harmonies and a singular mix of doo-wop, folk and surf-inspired psychedelia. Their acclaimed album News of the Universe marks a bold new chapter, transforming Cleveland’s experience with illness, motherhood and change into a record that is both haunting and triumphant.
The Downtown Seattle Association is proud to present Downtown Summer Sounds, a free outdoor concert series that has been bringing free live, local, national and international music to downtown Seattle for more than 45 years.
