Bioregion: Snoqualmie — Portraits of Interdependence
An Opening Art Show Invitation Step into the Snoqualmie bioregion, where jagged peaks, ancient forests, and rushing rivers tell a story of deep connection—one that stretches back millennia and continues to unfold today. Bioregion: Snoqualmie is a visual exploration of this living landscape, where every element—from the towering cedars and elusive cougars to the salmon and the people who call this valley home—is part of an intricate, ever-evolving whole. These photographs invite you to see beyond the scenery and recognize the web of relationships that sustains it: the fungal networks beneath the soil, the snowmelt feeding the rivers, and the human communities who, through stewardship or extraction, shape its future. Nowhere is this interplay more visible than at Snoqualmie Falls, where sacred land, Indigenous heritage, and modern demands collide in a microcosm of the region’s beauty and tensions. This is more than an art show—it’s a call to recognize our place within this system. The land does not belong to us; we belong to it, and our actions must reflect that truth. As the Snoqualmie Tribe has long understood, reciprocity is the foundation of survival. The exhibition honors the work of restoration—like the revival of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie Valley—and challenges us to ask: How will we respond to the land’s fragility and generosity? Join us for the opening, and let these images move you to act: volunteer with trail crews, engage in conservation efforts, or support the organizations safeguarding this bioregion. The land cannot speak for itself—but we can. Art Show Opening Friday, June 12th 5 - 9pm Come join us in lessons on how understanding ourselves as members of this system is the first step toward protecting it.
