20th African Film Festival

We are excited to celebrate twenty years of the festival by highlighting a variety of genres of films, post-show talk-backs with directors (and cast) and a filmmaking intensive workshop, all while showcasing the latest talent and new directions in cinema. This year’s showcase features short and narrative films including acclaimed films from Cannes and other international festivals. Filmmaker Nicolas Sawalo Cisse and actor Ntobeko Sishi (Laundry) will join us for informative discussions and Ekwa Msangi will lead a special filmmaking intensive for those interested in any aspect of filmmaking. On Saturday, March 28 at 3pm, there will be a wonderful selection of animated and short narrative films aimed at ALL ages including Miss (and post-show talk back from its filmmaker Amira Khelfallah). The entire weekend offers a variety of film experiences. The 2026 Festival will take place in Brown Hall, Room 100 on Washington University’s Campus. The festival is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. For more information, visit our site: africanfilm.wustl.edu.
