Creature Comfort Pet Therapy invites the community to celebrate National Therapy Animal Day on April 30 from 4:30–6:30 PM on the lawn of the Vail Mansion.
This special community event will highlight the powerful impact therapy animals have on people of all ages. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet certified therapy animals, speak with volunteers, and learn how pet therapy helps reduce stress, ease anxiety, and bring comfort to those in need.
Creature Comfort Pet Therapy is a 15-year-old nonprofit that certifies volunteer teams and their pets to provide visits in hospitals, schools, nursing homes, libraries, rehabilitation centers, and other community facilities across nine counties in New Jersey. The organization currently has more than 250 volunteers, conducts over 5700 visits annually, and reaches more than 130,000 people each year.
During the celebration, Creature Comfort Pet Therapy will also be honored for its service to the community with a Resolution from Assemblywoman Aura K. Dunn and a Proclamation from Morristown Councilman Chris Russo.
The event is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend, meet the therapy animals, and learn more about how to become involved in this meaningful work.
