Earth Sunday with WaterSpirit


For 30 years, Dr. Scott Carlin was a professor of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at LIU Post and Southampton College in New York. During his tenure there, he also advanced a variety of campus sustainability initiatives. For the past five years, he has worked as a consultant with the New York State Children’s Environmental Health Centers (NYSCHECK.org) where he coordinates an environmental justice project in Wyandanch, on Long Island. Beginning with the 2007 United Nations conference, Climate Change: How It Impacts Us All, Scott assumed a variety of leadership positions with United Nations NGOs. He co-chaired the 2016 United Nations NGO conference held in the Republic of Korea, The Role of Civil Society in Advancing Global Citizenship. He has been a UN NGO representative for the Dayemi Foundation and the International Society of Doctors for the Environment. He is a member of Evolutionary Leaders (EvolutionaryLeaders.net) where he has been an advocate for new models of human health and wellbeing. In addition, Scott actively promotes the United Nation’s Culture of Peace and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Dr. Carlin’s has published writings in academic articles, edited books, newspaper editorials, and various online publications. His topics include climate change policies, heart-centered approaches to environmental advocacy, education for global citizenship, green cities, planetary health, and adopting a new ecological worldview.
