Pulled Pork Drive-Thru Dinner Fundraiser

The Maumee Senior Center‘s Annual Pulled Pork Dinner Drive-Thru Fundraiser returns again this year from 3-6 p.m. Sept. 27, 2025. The meal features pulled pork that has been slow roasted and smoked for 16 hours by one of the Maumee Senior Center’s popular grill-masters. Plus the pulled pork sandwich meal includes a side of barbecue sauce, smoked baked beans, home-made coleslaw and a delicious cookie. Meals are just $10 per person or double the meat for $13. In addition, the Maumee Senior Center is offering Smoked Queso and chips for an additional $5. The Smoked Queso is made with fresh, pork sausage, peppers and four different types of cheese to tempt the taste buds. However, supplies are limited. New this year, a vegan meal option will be available for $10 each. The vegan meal consists of pulled jackfruit on a bun, vegan baked beans, coleslaw and a vegan, homemade cookie! The vegan meal will be prepared by Leaf and Seed. Also, vegan queso and chips will be available for an additional $5. “We are excited about offering another meal alternative to the mix. It’s a great meal and all people have to do is drive through, order, pay and go,” said Maumee Senior Center Executive Director Malinda Ruble. The drive-thru fundraiser is located in the Maumee Senior Center’s parking lot at 2430 S. Detroit Ave., Maumee. Having friends over for football or a party? Ninety-five percent of the seniors we asked say they are happier/more satisfied with life and have a more positive outlook on life because they come to the Maumee Senior Center,” said Ruble. “Although we are extremely grateful for the support we receive through the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio, the City of Maumee, grants and local businesses/organizations, we conduct fundraisers, like this one, as a way to help bridge the gap in funding for services.” Additional fundraising events include the MSC Health & Wellness Fair on Sept. 5 and All That Jazz at the Maumee Senior Center, featuring Gene Parker, Oct. 17. The Maumee Senior Center is a registered 501(c)3 organization which provides services and programs for people 60 years of age and older. The Center is partially-funded by the Lucas County Senior Services Levy administered through the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio. Fundraisers, like this one, are hosted to support the Center’s programs and services.
