Flag Field of Honor- 250th Anniversary

The Field of Honor Display will include a minimum of 500 flags to honor those currently serving and our community's veterans throughout our nation's history. The display will be located in it's entirety adjacent to the River Raisin National Battlefield Park at the corner of North Dixie Highway and East Elm Street in Monroe. The display will be open from June 27th through July 8th. A formal dedication will take place on Saturday, June 27th at 1:00 pm. The lighted Field of Honor can be visited at any time during the dates of display. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to use this opportunity to honor family friends, and loved ones who currently serve in the military or who are veterans. For as little as $40.00, you can honor someone by sponsoring a U.S. Flag for inclusion in the display, which will be available for pickup on July 9th, along with a certificate of recognition. The Monroe Exchange Club, the oldest service club in Monroe and one of the oldest in the nation, is celebrating its 105th anniversary. The Exchange Club is founded on the concept of Americanism, Community Service, Support for Youth and Families, and the Prevention of Child Abuse.
