Camouflage- Studio Art Quilt Associates Juried Exhibition

Camouflage reveals what is hidden in plain sight, celebrating the remarkable survival strategies of wildlife through the innovative lens of contemporary art quilting. By members of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) and juried by Canadian textile artist Lorraine Roy, this global exhibition brings together 36 artists from eight countries, including the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, and Mauritius. Their works explore themes of concealment, adaptation, and visual deception using fabric, stitch, and layered textile techniques. Unlike traditional quilting, art quilts are created as fine art—meant to provoke, interpret, and express. Artists in Camouflage push boundaries with intricate machine embroidery, vibrant surface design, and unconventional materials, crafting imagery that ranges from hyper realistic to abstract. Animals like owls, insects, and reptiles emerge from patterned landscapes, their stories woven into each thread. https://www.desertmuseumarts.com/exhibits-1/camouflage-(saqa-global-exhibition)
