Wildlife Ranger Challenge
Join Reid Park Zoo for a fun walk around Reid Park in solidarity with the Wildlife Ranger Challenge and in celebration of World Rhino Day. After the walk, enjoy special talks about African species in the Zoo. Zoo admission is included in the entry fee. Festivities begin at the Front Gate of the Zoo.
The Wildlife Rangers Challenge, powered by Tusk.org, supports front-line rangers across Africa by raising vital funds for frontline conservation efforts and awareness of the important work rangers do to protect Africa’s biodiversity.
On September 20, more than 150 ranger teams spanning the African continent will unite to compete in a half marathon race carrying their typical 48 pound backpack and equipment. Teams around the world are partnering with them to show solidarity for the vital role they play in protecting Africa’s wildlife.
Pre-registration is required and funds raised will benefit conservation. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. at the front entrance of the Zoo. The walk begins at 8 a.m.
Additional donations can be made during registration. Money raised through the Wildlife Ranger Challenge will be matched by the Scheinberg Relief Fund to be unlocked by participating ranger teams.
