Free & Open to the Public
Join artist and founder Anne Pollard James for a moderated conversation about coming to art later in life and what it means to claim a creative identity at 50. Anne turned toward a new impulse to make art and began painting in midlife, the week before the world shut down in 2020. That decision marked a significant shift, one that reshaped both her professional and personal trajectory.
Her work explores themes of power, ownership, and the experience of being a woman moving through a world not made for or by us. Through painting, she engages questions of agency, identity, and presence, creating work that invites conversation. This conversation will follow that transition into a full-time studio practice, along with the founding of Carson House as a space for creative connection and dialogue, and her work with The Delight Project.
