The band traces its roots to Jefferson Airplane, one of the most prominent bands of the late 1960s, which produced smash hits like “Somebody To Love” and “White Rabbit.” Members of that group, including David Freiberg, went on to form Jefferson Starship in the early 1970s and picked up right where the Airplane left off, becoming one of the most successful arena rock groups of the 1970s and 80s, earning three platinum and eight gold records, as well as numerous Top 40 singles.
Today’s Jefferson Starship features founding member Freiberg, longtime drummer Donny Baldwin, keyboardist Chris Smith, lead vocalist Cathy Richardson, and lead guitarist Jude Gold.
