Girl Scout Day: Geocaching, Letterboxing, and Trail Adventure
Come learn about geocaching and letterboxing during our special Adventure Program! Scouts will learn about GPS, mapping, and various methods of navigation. In addition, they will learn about codes and solve their very own scavenger hunt in Old Town Alexandria! This program requires 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Groups do not need to arrive at 12 pm. However, it is required that scout groups arrive by 1:30 pm to have enough time to complete all activities. The Adventure Program will assist the Girl Scouts to obtain the following badges: Daisy: Trail Adventure; Brownies: Letterboxer; and Junior: Geocacher.
It is recommended that the scouts bring a bag of some type to carry crafts and handouts during the program. Bringing a compass is strongly recommended but not required. This program is outdoors and will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate walking shoes.
Capacity is limited. If capacity is reached, a waitlist will be created.
