Virginia country artists Rebecca Porter, Emily Woodhull, and Annie Stokes honor June Carter, Patsy Cline, and other trailblazers with an evening of original songs and conversation about Virginia’s unique contribution to country music.
Rebecca Porter is an on-the-rise country artist, born in Guam and raised in the Shenandoah Valley. Her debut album "Roll With The Punches" challenges norms, honors traditions while breaking them wide open, and showcases Porter's soaring and dynamic vocals.
Emily Woodhull left the bustle of big city life to tap into her country roots. The result is 90s-infused country songs with hard-hitting lyrics that have gone viral, caught the attention of Music City, and earned her fans all over the country.
Annie Stokes is a tried-and-true self-made artist who earned her keep in the music industry through farmers' markets, open mics, and dive bars. Her 2022 album
"The One That Gets Away" propelled her to regional reknown and paved the way for her dark and delicate Americana music to reach more ears all over the country.
These three artists believe passionately in the power of community when it comes to music, and wish to honor their Virginian foremothers through a night of original music and converstaion.
