AFSP Out of the Darkness Fairfax Walk

The Fairfax County Out of the Darkness Walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in the Mosaic District in Fairfax, Virginia. Check-in begins at 11:00 AM, and the walk starts at 12:30 PM. This is a free, community-based event to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention. Participants can register individually or as part of a team. Fundraising is encouraged, and walkers who raise $150 or more by walk day will receive a commemorative t-shirt. The event includes an opening ceremony, a symbolic Honor Bead activity to recognize the personal connection to suicide, and opportunities to engage with local mental health resources. All proceeds support AFSP’s mission of saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide through research, education, advocacy, and support programs. Volunteers, sponsors, and new committee members are welcome. The event is part of a series of AFSP walks happening across the National Capital Area.
