Join the 2026 Best Buddies Friendship Walk on the National Mall
The Best Buddies Friendship Walk in Washington, DC will take place on April 25, 2026, on the iconic National Mall. This free event brings together more than 2,000 participants to celebrate friendship, inclusion, and community while raising awareness and funds for Best Buddies in Virginia & DC.
Founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Best Buddies is a nonprofit dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living programs.
The day is full of fun and connection for everyone: walkers of all ages join together for the walk, enjoy interactive activities, games, and music, and connect with peers and local Best Buddies chapters. It’s a vibrant celebration of friendship, diversity, and community spirit, all while supporting programs that create meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities.
