Submissions for the Plastic Art Show Competition at the fifth annual 2026 ALX Dog Walk and Sustainability Festival has officiall closed!We’re honored to welcome The Art League and The Alexandria Arts Alliance as partners for the 2026 Plastic Art Show. A representative from each will serve on the judging panel. Collaborating with community organizations helps us reach new audiences and advance our educational mission. #artactivism!We invite up to 30 D.C./MD/VA-based artists - who REGISTER HERE for free - to confirm their participation in the Plastic Art Show Competition. Artists must create works using primarily plastic materials, such as bottles, caps, cups, bags, buttons, plastic fabrics, straws, etc. Eligible participants must be residents of D.C., Maryland, or Virginia and at least 18 years old.How to Participate:Register for free here.Email a photo of your completed artwork by March 1, 2026 to: [email protected] your artwork at the festival on April 18, 2026, where it will be judged.Prize Awards:First Place: $1,000Second Place: $500Third Place: $250Artists may also host a FREE table to sell additional artwork during the event.Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your creativity and support for plastic-free and sustainable living!
