You've reached the registration desk of the ALX Dog Walk's Sustainability Festival! Get ready to unleash some fun at our fifth annual event! Registration is open to the first 40 organizations to sign-up.WHAT On Saturday, April 18th, walkers and pups will take a 2-mile dog walk down historic Union Street and looping back along the beautiful Potomac River to Oronoco Bay Park for a fabulous Sustainability Festival and celebration! We expect 2,000+ dogs and dog lovers to join the fun. This isn’t just any Sustainability Festival—it's a showcase of amazing organizations that promote innovative, eco-friendly products, services, and programs. We believe it's important for people to see these awesome solutions and get inspired. Participating organizations - be they public, private, or nonprofit - may choose to sell their products too! Remember, we represent organizations demonstrating pawgress towards plastic-free and sustainable living - don't worry about being perfect - we're all on this journey together.EVENT EMCEES AND FUN FEATURES The fabulous Chuck Bell, NBC4’s weather anchor, and Monte Durham of Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta, will emcee the morning festivities to include a DJ, family activities, a doggie show with prizes, dog tattoo/portrait artist, a delicious and healthy bake sale hosted by the Board of Lady Managers of INOVA Hospital, free ethically sourced coffee from Hypergoat Coffee Roasters (for the first 500 walkers who bring a mug!), and so much more. Plus, we will feature an enormous display of plastic-free products to help you discover ways to live more sustainably.REGISTRATION FEE Thank you for your $50 contribution which reserves you one table and two chairs and helps us defray the early delivery and set-up fee. Be sure to bring your tent as we're a rain-or-shine event (dogs love rain!).In line with our mission, we're a plastic-free/recycled plastic event, and we have a TOOLKIT to help you to discover ways to set-up your plastic-free/recycled plastic table. Once again, please don't worry about being plastic-free perfect, just do your best and try new things. We're all about the step by step approach!THE MORNING AGENDA Here's what to expect on Walk Day:6:00 AM: Organizations begin setting up tables7:00 AM: Walkers begin checking-in8:00 AM: Morning speaker, Mayor Alyia Gaskins!8:15 AM: The Walk begins (2 miles down Union St and back)9-11 AM: Walkers return to Oronoco Bay Park and enjoy festivities!TABLE LOCATION AND PARKING INSTRUCTIONSIn early April, we’ll send you final details about the Sustainability Festival including your organization's specific table location and parking instructions. Remember, our event is rain or shine, so bring your tent - dogs love the rain!
