Potomac Mills Invites Guests to Ring in the Year of the Horse

One of the highlights of the celebration will be the Lion Dance, a choreographed show featuring traditional bows, tossing of the cheng and a dramatic scroll drop—performed to bring good luck and fortune—alongside additional cultural performances throughout the afternoon, including Chinese dance by Greater Washington Chinese Dance; dance, qipao show and singing by Zi Xia Music & Dance; a Gu-Zheng (Chinese zither) ensemble performance by Alice Gu-Zheng Ensemble; South Indian classical dance by Natananjali School of Dance; Indian classical dance by Kalavaridhi Center for Performing Arts; and the Indonesian Enggang Dance from Borneo performed by Bali Jegeg. Shoppers can also enjoy exclusive retailer discounts and giveaways with deals from more than 60 Potomac Mills retailers. Many retailers will feature Lunar New Year merchandise, including Pandora (Neighborhood 1), Puma (Neighborhood 2), Lego (Neighborhood 2), SG Creations (Neighborhood 2), and Home Goods/Marshalls (Neighborhood 5). A themed photo station in Grand Court, complete with money trees for good luck, will provide opportunities for memorable photos, and guests are encouraged to tag @shoppotomacmills on Instagram and @PotomacMills on Facebook for the chance to be featured.
