Faith-Based Attainable Housing Summit: Planting the SEEDs - Support, Educate, Engage and Develop


Loudoun County will host a faith-based attainable housing summit May 6, 2026, for local faith-based organizations and nonprofit organizations to learn about building attainable housing on land owned by faith communities. Loudoun County defines attainable housing as housing affordable to households earning from 0 – 100% of the area median income. This represents a household of four earning up to $163,900. The “Faith-Based Attainable Housing Summit: Planting the SEEDs - Support, Educate, Engage and Develop” summit will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Lodge at Hanson Park, 23394 Endeavor Drive in Aldie. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided. About the Summit Through the summit, Loudoun County’s faith-community will have an opportunity to understand how working with the county on a creative approach to building housing can extend their mission and support attainable housing for individuals and families. The summit is organized by the Loudoun County Department of Housing and Community Development and Virginia Housing. The summit will be comprised of three focused sessions: Session 1: Faith-Based Development, From Roots to Buildings: Learn from national and state experts who have a bird's eye view of the process of faith-owned land to attainable housing—from discernment to development, and what resources interested organizations should know about. Presentations from Georgetown University, Enterprise Community Partners, Virginia Housing Moderated by the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance Session 2: Partnership - Loudoun County Government Support: Partnership with local government is a crucial component to building a sustainable and safe place for individuals and families to call home. Listen to Loudoun County department representatives discuss financing sources, the rezoning process and special programs. Presentations from the Loudoun County departments of Building and Development, Housing and Community Development and Planning and Zoning Moderated by True Ground Housing Partners Session 3: Success Stories: Hear stories of success and the impact of building attainable housing from faith-based organizations and developers. Panelists from Central United Methodist Church, Fairlington Presbyterian Church, True Ground Housing Partners and Wesley Housing Moderated by the Loudoun County Housing Advisory Board Registration The summit is free.
