“African Folktales from Around the World"
Monday, February 23, 6:30 p.m.
The Friends of the Cumberland County Library invite you to an enchanting evening of global storytelling with Michelle Washington Wilson, one of New Jersey’s most beloved storytellers. In African Folktales from Around the World, Michelle transports audiences on a magical journey—no passport required—as she shares classic and original tales that celebrate culture, imagination, and the universal joy of story.
As part of this special program, Michelle also presents selections from “Anansi Spins, Stories with Friends,” bringing the legendary Anansi the Spider—and his folklore kin, Brer Rabbit—to life with humor, energy, and heart. Her storytelling is warm, mesmerizing, and truly magical—an experience that reminds us how stories braid memory and build bridges across generations.
