Whether you choose to walk, run, volunteer, donate, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation helps make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with ALS and their families.
Since 1977, ALS United Mid-Atlantic has been committed to supporting individuals and families affected by ALS while advancing the search for effective treatments and a cure. Why Your Participation Matters
ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells responsible for voluntary muscle movement. Every day, individuals and families across our region face the challenges of an ALS diagnosis.
Funds raised through the ALS United Walk & 5K directly support essential programs and services, including:
• Multidisciplinary care and support services
• Equipment and assistive technology programs
• Support groups and caregiver resources
• Advocacy initiatives
• Research aimed at discovering new treatments and a cure
Thanks to the generosity of participants, donors, sponsors, and volunteers, ALS United Mid-Atlantic can continue providing personalized support to those who need it most while investing in the future of ALS research.

Celebrate, Honor, and Remember
The ALS United Walk & 5K is more than a fundraiser, it's a powerful gathering of individuals united by a common purpose. Together, we celebrate victories, honor those currently living with ALS, remember loved ones we have lost, and demonstrate our commitment to a future without this disease.
Whether ALS has touched your life personally or you simply want to support an important cause, your presence matters. Every participant, every donation, and every mile completed helps bring us closer to better care, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure.
We look forward to seeing you at the Wilmington Riverfront on September 12, 2026. Join us as we walk, run, and unite to create hope for the ALS community.
