Birding & Ephemerals Walk
Discover the beauty of birds and spring ephemeral wildflowers on a walk with the East Quabbin Land Trust (EQLT) at Henry's Grove Preserve in Hubbardston! Steve Lofgren, member of the Executive Council of the Maryland Ornithological Society (and grandson of Henry, after whom Henry's Grove is named) will help us spot, listen for, and identify various bird species. Mike Stoll, Steward of Henry's Grove, will help us find and identify spring ephemeral wildflowers.
Parking will be along one side of Lombard Rd. (look for the parking signs). Bring binoculars, if you have them (EQLT will have a couple to lend), and consider downloading the eBird and Merlin apps to your phone before arriving. Snacks will be provided. Wear appropriate clothing for weather and ticks (long-sleeved shirts, pants, closed shoes for forested trail walking, etc.). RSVP to [email protected].
