Baller Floor Barre Workshop


Take all of the ballet technique you’ve learned to the floor in this workshop. Ballet Floor Barre is a low-impact, ballet-based workout performed entirely on the floor and is suitable for all levels, from beginner to advanced. It is an excellent method for developing stronger body awareness and control, refining ballet technique, improving posture and alignment, building strength and flexibility, and supporting injury prevention. This 4-week workshop meets weekly for one hour. Being on the floor helps reinforcing proper body placement and positioning. It’s especially helpful for rehabilitation and for isolating movements without joint stress. Proper foot placement, turnout from the hips, and leg extensions can be fine-tuned more slowly and intentionally on the floor. These concentrated exercises carry beautifully into standing work, allowing dancers to return to the barre and center with cleaner lines, greater precision, and a more effortless sense of control. Students should bring a mat to class with them. This Ballet Floor Barre is a great pairing with the 9:15 am drop-in Ballet class.
