Creative Possibilities of Collage with Bernie Diaz
This workshop introduces participants to the creative possibilities of collage through a progressive series of small-scale projects exploring a range of techniques, approaches, and compositional strategies used in the artist’s body of work. Participants will experiment with layering, fragmentation, juxtaposition, abstraction, recontextualization, and other collage-based methods while developing their own visual language through play, experimentation, and reinterpretation of found imagery. Some activities may involve collaborative making processes that encourage shared experimentation and collective image-making. Participants are also encouraged to bring personal materials if they wish to incorporate them into their work.
