Georgetown Art Center Presents New Exhibit, Papers Opens July 2

(GEORGETOWN, Texas) — Georgetown Art Center will present Papers, a solo exhibition by Austin-based Mexican-American artist Bernie Diaz, on view July 2 through August 2, 2026. Papers features small-scale abstract paper assemblages and collage-derived paintings that explore identity formation, fragmentation and historical revision. Through layered words and images, Diaz obscures origins, questions meaning and highlights the tension between clarity and obscurity. The exhibition will include an opening reception on Saturday, July 11 from 4–6 p.m., an artist talk on Sunday, July 12 at 2 p.m. and a masterclass on Saturday, July 18.
