Opening Reception: Saturday, July 11, 5-7 Artist Talk: Sunday, July 19, 3pm Summer gallery hours: Friday - Sunday, 1-5 Link & Pin presents Session 3 of Summer Exposure, a series of two-week group exhibitions showcasing local artists working in a variety of media. Brandon Quintero creates powerful artworks that are both masterful and thought provoking. Through his detailed pencil drawings, acrylic paintings on canvas, murals, and digital illustrations, Quintero’s practice weaves together realism, surrealism, and expressionism to explore themes of identity and the complexity of American culture. Jamie Graham is a textile, ceramic and mixed media artist whose work centers on her connection to nature. She loves getting her hands “in the mud” with ceramics, becoming fascinated by the mystery of creation when a piece transforms from a lump of clay to a work of art. Each piece is created with techniques that require each of the four elements– reflecting her connection to goddesses, plants, animals, the juxtaposition of sun and moon, and how these influence her life. Bonnie Maxey is an Austin-based printmaker whose artworks reflect her deep connection with water. She masterfully combines intaglio with aquatint, lithographs, linocuts, and photogravure, infusing her colored pencil pieces and prints with realism and abstract impressions of aquatic worlds. Her artworks evoke awe, reverence, and a sense of gentle urgency for the fragile blue heart of our planet, the ocean.
