California Aeronautical University (CAU) invites the community to attend Prepare for Takeoff – an Aspiring Pilot Seminar, a free, in‐person event hosted at CAU’s main campus in Bakersfield.
This seminar is designed for individuals interested in learning more about becoming a pilot and exploring career opportunities in aviation. Whether you are a high school student, a parent, or an adult considering a career change, this event provides a clear introduction to aviation training and education pathways.
During the seminar, CAU staff will cover:
-The steps to becoming a commercial pilot
-How flight training works and what to expect
-Differences between flight schools and aviation universities
-Education and degree pathways in aviation
-Financial aid and planning for flight training
-R‐ATP eligibility and why it matters
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A session and learn what steps they can take now to prepare for flight training.
This event is open to:
-High school students and families
-College‐bound students exploring aviation programs
-Career changers interested in aviation
-Anyone curious about pilot training and aviation careers
No prior flight experience is required.
