The Apiary

Clark Week Productions presents the Chicago premiere of The Apiary, Kate Douglas’ poignantly dark and comedic sci-fi fable. Set 22 years into a bleak future, two lab workers race to save the last of the world’s remaining bees — but when their experiments finally start to yield results, the methods required may be more than society can stomach. Originally premiering Off-Broadway in 2024 at Second Stage Theatre with Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black) and directed by Kate Whoriskey, The Apiary makes its Chicago debut under the direction of Anna Klos. The production also boasts an all female/non-binary design team with scenery by Eimi Schyler, costumes by Emily Nicholson, and Ember Sappington providing dramaturgy. Proudly supported by The Independent Producers Initiative grant and The Hive Supply. The Apiary runs Thursday through Sunday, November 6th through 22nd at Bramble Arts Loft, 5545 N .
