About
Heart of Chicago Soul Club’s Dance Party returns to Color Club on Saturday, June 6th!
New York City and Chicago aren’t falling into any stereotypical rivalry. Chicago’s Heart of Chicago Soul Club and NYC’s Empire State Soul Club have no animosity—just a deep, mutual love of 60’s and 70s soul music and dancing. These two women led soul clubs come together for a great night of Soul Solidarity -- a shared celebration of All Vinyl, Rare, and Northern Soul in an all out dance party on the ballroom floor! On Saturday, June 6th, in the Ballroom at Color Club, these two collectives join forces to throw an unforgettable dance party.
The Heart of Chicago Soul Club is proud to welcome Empire State Soul Club’s Connie T. Empress. A legend of New York soul culture, Connie was one of the original forces behind ESSC founded in 1988 and revived a year ago, she is the defining architect of its sound and spirit. An early adopter and champion of Northern Soul in the U.S., Connie embodies the true spirit of the scene. Connie is not only knownfor her exceptional DJ sets but also for getting down on the dance floor. She’s famous for her high-energy 60s dance parties at Otto’s Shrunken Head in NYC, and now she brings that same legendary energy to the Heart of Chicago dance floor at Color Club. Her parties are the “Pinnacle of Soul” and not to be missed. We just can’t wait to get down to her amazing records!
Debbie (HOCSC) and Connie (ESSC) first connected at Keystone Northern Soul Club, forming a great friendship with a mutual love of the records and passion for creating community on the dance floor. They bring it full circle June 6th at Color Club!
Dj’s Debbie, Kat, Psyche Prissie Pie, Ricki Free and MLE invite you to join in giving our NYC Soul Club sister a big Chicago welcome!
This is an ALL AGES event. Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (25+).
