Chicago Artist Unveils 9/11 Monumental Memorial painting on the 25th Anniversary of America’s Greatest Tragedy.

Twenty Five years after the September 11,2001 terrorist Attacks forgiver changed America. Chicago Artist Bruno Surdo will unveil one of the most significant artistic tributes to the victims, heroes and enduring memory of 9/11.
Opening on September 11, 2026 at Gallery Victor in Chicago, Tragedy, Memory and Honor is a monumental painting measuring 9 x 35 feet long. This work was created in the months following the attacks as a lasting work of art to those who lost their lives and to the first responders whose courage inspired a nation.
Unlike many artistic interpretations of September 11, this work was born from firsthand experience. Shortly after the attacks, Surdo traveled to New York City and through extraordinary circumstances was granted rare access to Ground Zero during the recovery effort. The experience profoundly shaped the creation of the painting, giving it an authenticity and emotional depth rarely found in commemorating the tragedy
‘’The painting was never intended to be a work of art.’’ said Surdo. “It is a memorial and a tribute to the innocent lives lost, the bravery of the first responders and the resilience a nation during one of its darkest hours.”
The exhibition marks a public viewing of the painting commemorating the 25th anniversary. The exhibit invites visitors to reflect on the events of September 11 while learning about the painting’s creation with artifacts from ground zero.
