MUSIC FOR MIGRANTS FUNDRAISER
MUSIC FOR MIGRANTS Fundraiser will support the important work of the Oak Park Migrant Ministry which to date has helped resettle and is accompanying 30 migrant families and has served over 25,000 migrants with "free stores" offering clothes, jackets, shoes, and bedding as well as immigration support services, social services, and ESL. Immigration support services include submitting (and sometimes helping to pay for) migrants' work permits and passports for U.S.-born children. Under the current political environment, the Ministry is increasingly helping fund legal services for migrants and supporting detained migrants and their families.
The event will feature two local rock bands (HIGH AND LONESOME and KUATO), so the place will be rocking! Local storyteller Margaret Burk will serve as MC. Amazing raffle prizes include wine baskets, coffee roasters, fancy chocolates, pamper oneself spa treats, and children's items. Local stores and restaurants have donated gtift cards to be included in the raffle. Rounds of golf at local courses, private music lessons, career counseling session, and Cubs tickets are among the items featured in the silent auction, with more prizes being added everyday.
This event is open to those seeking to support the many needs of our migrant and immigrant brothers and sisters.
