Our Second Film in this series is "The Six Triple Eight” written and directed by Tyler Perry. “The Six Triple Eight” follows the story of the 855 black women who joined the US miliary during WWII. While facing war, discrimination, and personal loss, these women took on a what was seen as an impossible, and to many unnecessary, task and brought connection, encouragement, and fight back into people's hearts. If you can relate to fighting a battle others said was impossible, with what seems like the world against you, but was able to overcome through community and connection, come discuss this heroic story with us over dinner.
The 2-hour meal gathering will include a media moment to screen the film and a guided conversation and reflection led by a clinical psychologist who will hold group therapy-styled sessions over the meal.
