Celebrate Christmas with Handel’s Messiah (Part I)

Celebrate the season with Handel’s Messiah Part I, performed by the Armstrong Chancel Choir accompanied by local musicians—an evening of inspiring music, Advent reflection, and the prophetic hope of Christmas. Armstrong Chapel invites the community to a special Christmas concert on Sunday, December 21 at 7:00 PM, featuring Part I of Handel’s Messiah under the direction of Ben Basone. This beloved masterpiece, composed in 1741, continues to uplift audiences with its powerful proclamation of Christ’s coming and the promise of redemption. This year's presentation is shaped by Armstrong’s Advent devotional theme, exploring the prophetic names of Jesus from Isaiah—Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. These ancient promises echo through Handel’s music, offering a profound connection between Scripture, tradition, and worship. The evening will also include the lighting of the Advent Wreath, a tradition dating back to the 15th century, symbolizing God’s boundless love and the eternal life we receive through Christ. Together, these elements create a meaningful celebration that blends musical excellence with the spiritual depth of the Christmas story. All are welcome to attend this moving and memorable night of worship and song.
