The Trio of fundamentals that sustain life on our Earth – Water, Sun and Fire – also represent the three primary colors – Blue, Yellow and Red – that create the full spectrum. We constantly benefit from the amount of energy, support and beauty provided by and contained in each of them.
We need to appreciate and understand the power of these phenomena and the impact they have on everything that happens to us. They give us life but at the same time can cause, often unexpectedly, the devastation of that life. The dualism of Mother Nature is an inseparable part of our existence, both fascinating and frightening. This motif is frequently repeated in my work.” — Anna VanMatre
