Truth Be Told is a powerful evening of dance that honors the stories, ancestors, and cultural legacies that shape the Black experience. The Thursday, February 26, 2026 performance will include a Lifetime Achievement Honor for Melanie Lawson, celebrating her enduring impact on Houston’s cultural and civic life. Friday, February 27, 2026 will serve as Black Organization Night, honoring Black-led organizations and community partners whose work continues to sustain, protect, and uplift Black life in Houston.
