The 19-event Conference brings together more than 60 theatre artists for workshops, conversations, and new work presentations, creating opportunities for artists and audiences alike to connect, collaborate, and experience how new plays come to life.
The 2026 Conference includes an exciting lineup of acclaimed artists, featuring artists from Philadelphia’s vibrant theatre community, including Suli Holum, Noelle Diane Johnson, Anthony Martinez-Briggs, Michael A. Stahler, and Steve A. Wright, alongside Broadway artists Charlie Thurston, Danilo Gambini, and many more.
Whether you’re a theatre maker, an avid theatregoer, or simply curious about the creative process, there are many ways to enter the world of new play development. Attend new work presentations, hear Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Eboni Booth (Primary Trust) in conversation, take part in free playwriting workshops for adults and teens, join a writing workshop for women over 50, or explore conversations connecting theatre with history, civic life, and creative practice.
