MarineQuest 2026

MarineQuest 2026: St. Petersburg's Day of Science Returns for its 31st Year. Get ready, science fans! The FWC's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute is opening its doors once again for MarineQuest, the one day each year when the public can explore the labs, specimens, research vessels, and hands-on science that helps protect Florida’s fish and wildlife. MarineQuest is part science exhibition, part behind-the-scenes tour and part family adventure. Guests can talk with biologists, explore touch tanks, try kid-friendly activities, and get an up-close look at sharks, rays, seagrasses, sea turtle exhibits, coral, cranes, conch, alligators and more. MarineQuest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, 100 8th Avenue SE in downtown St. Petersburg. The event takes place in conjunction with the St. Petersburg Science Festival. Parking: Visitors may park downtown at the SouthCore Parking Garage (101 First Ave. S.). A free shuttle will run between the garage and the event entrance. Limited disabled parking is available on First St. S. between Sixth Ave. S. and Eighth Ave. S.
