History Adventure Camp

Camps run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.– 4 p.m., with extended care available. Each camp explores history through a different theme, giving campers the chance to learn, create, ask questions and connect the past to the world around them. Camp Dates American Girl® Camp - June 8–12 and July 6–10 Campers discover the worlds of Kirsten LarsonTM in 1854, Melody EllisonTM in 1964 and Julie AlbrightTM in 1974. Through storytelling, traditional games, crafts and hands-on activities, campers explore daily life in each era while making connections to Tampa’s history. Archaeology Camp - June 22–26 Campers get a closer look at how archaeologists study the past. From underwater excavation to land-based digs and fossils, campers take part in hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity, discovery and evidence-based thinking. Pirates & Explorers Camp - July 20–24 Campers explore Florida and Tampa’s maritime history through pirate legends, fact-versus-fiction activities, famous explorers, deep-sea mysteries and hands-on learning. Families have shared that campers love the gallery connections, hands-on crafts and activities, and the chance to learn while having fun. One parent noted that their children “beg to stay until the very end of the day,” while another called it “the best experience” they had with any camp. History Adventure Camps are offered on select dates throughout the summer, and availability may vary by camp theme and week. Families are encouraged to check the Tampa Bay History Center website for current camp dates, registration links, pricing, extended care details and availability. *See website for details.*
