The Treasure Island Kite Festival is an annual celebration of creativity and fun. Join us for a weekend filled with stunning kite displays, competitions, workshops and more. Expert kite flyers are coming from around the country to put on a display and share their talents. - Gigantic Show Kites up to 90 ft long - Exciting Sport Kite Performance and Competition - Hand made artistic kites. - Interactive fun including flying lessons, candy drop, bubble storm and community crowd fly. - Night fly with LED Kites Special Guests include: - Team Quantum performing choreographed routines to music. - World class flyer James Almas flying four dual line kites at once. - Team Southern Lights from Texas will fill the sky with over 25 gigantic kites by day and light them up with LEDs at night. - Lee Sedgwick flying his incredible kite stacks and filling the sky with bubbles. - American Kitefliers Association president Mike Dertien and James Hoving flying more giant kites from Michigan - Kevin Bayless and the Florida Kiters Club sharing their talent and artistry the list goes on... This is a free event organized by the Toy Shore in John's Pass and sponsored by Visit St Pete Clearwater
